David Kruh is the published author of several history books, notably the only two written exclusively about Boston's erstwhile entertainment district, Scollay Square. His writing has appeared in the Boston Globe, Herald, History Magazine and other publication. His latest work is INSEPARABLE, a novel based on the 1962 escape of three men from Alcatraz, which was published in 2022.
Co-author Tina Drzal (on the left, next to Pam Quinn, a cousin found during our research) is a chef and teacher who grew up stories about what happened to her dad on VJ Day. A lucky click on a link to David's 2005 Boston Globe column on Mister Victory led to their friendship and collaboration on this book.
Nikki Browne's interest in her own family's history led to a lifelong fascination with genealogy. By sheer luck David and Tina connected with Nikki in 2022 and it was her expertise and focus which resulted in the breakthrough for this story.
